Smith leading the way in Grand Rapids

I have yet to find video of the fight...but it's a fact that Brendan Smith won it (griffinshockey).
If you're not on the Brendan Smith bandwagon...it's time to jump on.

On Saturday night the Giffins had their second game in back-to-back days against the Manitoba Moose.  They won the first game 1-0.  Game two was another victory, this time by a score of 3-2.

And who was the hero of game two?

None other than Brendan 'Big Game' Smith.

The young defenseman scored the game winning goal 12:43 into the third period.  Not only did he have the game winner, but he dropped the gloves and registered his first career fight in the second period.

Smith finish the game with 1 goal, 2 shots, 5 penalty minutes, and was a minus-1.  He continues to lead the Griffins in scoring (4 points) and goals (2).

Video highlights (Smith's goal comes at the 1:27 mark)

Grand Rapids' next game is at home against the Milwaukee Admirals this Friday.

Let's Go Griffins.
